My name is Jolanda Dantuma and I would like to welcome you for a wonderful stay in our B&B in the beautiful Vechtdal! HM5 stands for: Hessel Mulert (-straat) 5. Hessel Mulert was a nobleman who took the initiative in 1492 to build a bridge over the Overijsselse Vecht in Ommen to facilitate the crossing of farmers, citizens and country people (without wet feet). offer. Until then, there was no bridge in Ommen and the crossing had to be made by ferries or barges. The original wooden bridge was replaced in 1970 by the current concrete road bridge with a wide promenade. From there you have a nice view of the old Ommen and the Vecht. B&B HM5 is located in a detached house from 1960, which was completely renovated in 2019, including the completely new B&B on the floor. read more..
